A Google+ app for both Android tablets and the iPad is finally here — and after using it for a few minutes, it’s obvious why it took a while to arrive.
The app brings the service to a new class of devices, and Google spent a lot of effort crafting the user experience.
Google’s Senior Vice President of Social, Vic Gundotra, sat down with Mashable to show off the app. It has very obvious new features, such as a revamped video-chat hangout experience and Events. But Gundotra was clearly proud of one aspect of the user experience he didn’t talk about in Wednesday’s keynote.
Google’s developers paid special attention to how the stream loads new content. When you swipe your finger to load more content from your stream, the posts “pop” in through animation, sliding into place as the photos materialize into view.
When you navigate back through posts that have already streamed, the animation is absent, giving the reader a subtle cue about where the end of their stream is.
“Those little details that are all about the human interaction … that’s the kind of design excellence that I think helps makes this app so amazing,” says Gundotra.
“When you use it, it just feels right.”
The new Google+ is available now in the Google Play store and the Apple app store. Gundotra promises all of the magic is in the iPad version of the app, too.
How do you like the new Google+ tablet app? Sound off in the comments.

I think Google have to do more than a slight animation to get noticed. Helpful, but certainly not earth shattering.
no wonder they dont release an ipad version G+ …. lol
Google is the best for showing day by day best features.

Anyone else NOT finding it in the App Store?! I believe they delayed the release for iPad.
There is no iPad version in the iTunes store, only the iPhone version.
Mashable, get your facts straight! There is no app for the iPad, it’s just the same old iPhone app as before. And it hasn’t even been updated! This site is just getting worse and worse…
It has a redesigned UI. A tablet friendly design. The app is image-heavy, like before, but now it takes on an almost Windows 8-like feel with post images of two different sizes.

I can’t find it either.
I tried it out on my Acer tab, looks very nice. But, also wasn’t able to find it on my iPad. Read somewhere else that the iOS tablet version isn’t ready yet for release but that should be pretty cool when it hits.
