Skinnovation is the first startup conference on ski. During three days 250 young and aspiring entrepreneurs and startups meet up to ski together and attend workshops, speeches and coaching sessions in the ski huts. Pitching happens in the ski lift.

Skinnovation has its homebase in Innsbruck, Austria. During the 3-day ski event, two different ski resorts in the Tyrolean Alps are visited: Schlick2000 and Axamer Lizum. While day activities take place on the slopes, evening activities are organised in Innsbruck. The first evening event is hosted at the Wirtschaftskammer Tirol. During the second evening participants can choose among different restaurants in Innsbruck and the third evening takes place at the Bäckerei.
Transport
Innsbruck can be easily reached by car, bus, train or plane. If you choose to travel by car please keep in mind that parking is mostly paid and costs about 15 Euro per day. During the event no car is needed. If you travel by train please book a ticket to Innsbruck central station. Next to the train station there is also the bus station. MeinFernbus is a very convenient and cheap option if you want to come by bus. In case you are planing to fly you can either travel straight to Innsbruck or fly to Munich and take the MeinFernbus straight from the airport to Innsbruck (about 3 hours).
Accommodation
If you need accommodation in Innsbruck you can apply for the Non-local ticket which provides you with a budget place to stay during the event (local host). Please be aware that this type of ticket is only limited available. Otherwise you can check Airbnb or Trivago for a place to stay. In the morning we leave from the city center (Triumphpforte), and evening activities will take place in the very center of Innsbruck. Therefore we recommend you to choose a place within walking distance from the center. Please book your accommodation as soon as we confirm your participation since March is still high season.

Do I need to bring my own skiing/snowboarding equipment?
If you have your own stuff, we recommend you to bring it with you. If you do not, you can rent it at a discounted price from our local partner shop. You can not only rent skies and snowboards, but also ski sticks, ski boots, gloves, goggles, back protectors, ski jackets and jackets.

When does Skinnovation take place?

Who should join Skinnovation? What kind of experience is needed?
Skinnovation addresses people who are not only interested in entrepreneurship, but who also love skiing and snowboarding. So whether you are about to start a business or you already have a startup company, you are welcome at Skinnovation 2017!
Will catering be provided during Skinnovation?
Yes, lunch and dinner will be provided during the time of the event.
What is the cancellation policy for Skinnovation?
For cancellation up to and including December 31st 2016, 80% of the ticket price will be refunded. For cancellation up to and including January 31st 2017, 50% of the ticket price will be refunded. The refund of a purchased ticket is not possible at a later time.
Moreover, the passing on of the ticket to a third party is permitted solely with the approval of the organizer.
I cannot ski, is it still possible for me to participate?
One part that makes Skinnovation so special is the experience on the slopes. Therefore, being able to ski/snowboard is of advantage. Moreover, some ski huts and as a result also some of the speeches are reachable only by ski/snowboard. What are the tasks of a volunteer?
Volunteers are helping us to make Skinnovation an awesome experience for everyone. Depending on your interests and availability there are different tasks volunteers can take over such as welcoming our participants, act as a tour guide, assist our speakers and prepare the event locations.

What is the programme for Skinnovation 2017?
The Skinnovation programme for 2017 includes not only skiing/snowboarding together, but also workshops and keynotes at ski huts as well as exciting evening events.

How do I get to the ski resorts?
Every morning we will go from Innsbruck to the ski resorts with our private shuttle bus. However, you can also go there by yourself using a car or public ski bus (at your own expenses). If you go by yourself, make sure that you arrive at the ski resort in time.
Where can I stay during the event?
You can either book an accommodation with us at a local host or book an accommodations at your own (Trivago, Airbnb, etc.). The accommodation at a local host can be booked for three nights only (09/03/17 – 12/03/17), by buying a Non-Local Ticket.

How can I apply for Skinnovation 2017?
As soon as the application starts, you can apply for a Skinnovation and buy a ticket. The application period will start in the end of October 2016 and will end on the 31th of January.
Which Skinnovation ticket categories are available?
After you complete the application form, you can choose between different ticket categories. More information on the various ticket catergories (price, content, etc) can be found on the homepgae
How can I pay for my ticket?
The easiest and fastest way is to pay by credit card through the provided application form. However, if it is not possible to pay by credit card, please contact us via kathrin@skinnovation.io, BEFORE filling out the application form.
