Sun Microsystems converted Java.net, the website of the Java community, to Drupal. The previous version of java.net, was custom built. Interesting choice for a site devoted to Java, but needless to say, a great testimonial to Drupal.

Fujifilm, is using Drupal for a community site at http://www.myfinepix.com. It is a website where FinePix camera owners come together to share images, knowledge and inspiration. The site features galleries, forums, photoblogs, news, competitions, user profiles and much more.

Zappos

Zappos started using Drupal on http://about.zappos.com. Zappos.com is an e-commerce website with more than $1 billion in revenue, and well known for their legendary customer service and culture.

Sony Ericsson

Sony Ericsson's first Drupal web site was officially launched yesterday at the JavaOne conference. The site, called Sony Ericsson Labs, is a community website to shares application concepts with everyone who is interested in mobile applications and where new ideas can begin to take shape. The site was designed and implemented by NodeOne in 462 hours with a team of five persons.

Google: M-Lab

Google announced Measurement Lab (M-Lab) this week, an open platform that researchers can use to deploy internet measurement tools. M-Lab will give end users the tools to figure out whether internet service providers are interfering with their broadband connections by blocking or throttling certain applications. Turns out that the current M-Lab site is using Drupal.

SourceForge, Inc (formerly VA Linux/Software, NASDAQ: LNUX) switched their corporate website to Drupal. Another public company with a Drupal site!

Sun Microsystems

Recently launched another cool Drupal site: Sun Learning Exchange. The site enables Sun employees to easily publish rich media training content such as videos, podcasts, and documents to be accessed by all Sun employees and customers. Media can be rated, sorted, and tagged by site members and is automatically transcoded and hosted on LimeWire. The site was built with the help of our friends at Chapter Three.

Adobe - Flex.org

Adobe just relaunched flex.org as a Drupal site. The backend of the Flex powered showcase site, http://flex.org/showcase, is also using Drupal: it communicates with the Flex front-end using the Services and the AMFPHP modules. Nike Beijing Olympics

Sportswear manufacturer Nike is using Drupal for their Beijing Olympics website. What is remarkable is that the content on the site is being translated to at least 13 languages (see language drop-down on screenshot). That is a testament to Drupal 6's improved internationalization features.

FedEx

FedEx is using Drupal for their news website. Not bad because FedEx is ranked in the top 100 of the Fortune 500.

AOL Corporate

We already knew that AOL was using Drupal for their AOL Developer Network at http://dev.aol.com. Turns out that AOL also started using Drupal for their corporate information website at http://corp.aol.com.

Yahoo!

Truth be told, between trips to Yahoo! including last year's Drupal conference, which they hosted, we already knew that Yahoo! is a major Drupal user. SXSW 2009

SXSW's 2009 web site, sxsw.com, does appear to be in Drupal 5. Looks like they utilized membership functions for users/ticket-holders to organize their schedule and panels for layout.

Grateful Dead

The new version of Dead.net was created on the Drupal content management platform and features extensive archives cataloging Grateful Dead history, songs, photos, memorabilia, and shows, indexed and searchable by tags. Dead users will be able to participate in forums, upload their own photos, and bookmark concerts and shows they have attended. Fans will also be treated to exclusive free mp3 show downloads.

Discovery Channel

Human Rights Watch

Human Rights Watch is a well-known international organization that advocates freedoms in connection with fundamental human rights, such as freedom of religion and freedom of press. Oxfam International

United Nations

117 million people participated in the United Nations' Anti-Poverty event, and it was organized on a Drupal site: http://www.standagainstpoverty.org/.

24 heures

24 heures, a Swiss newspaper published daily by Edipresse relaunched on Drupal recently. With more than 200 titles, Edipresse is one of Europe's biggest media and communications companies. 24 heures has more than 70,000 visitors a day and a readership of 245,000. The Dutch government is using Drupal for the website of the State Service for Cultural Heritage.

Recovery.gov

Drupal is no stranger to the political arena, and has been used for many campaign and government sites before. Recovery.gov, however, though, is a definite coup for Drupal -- there are not many Drupal sites that have their own post on Whitehouse.gov. Or on the Huffington Post. Or are featured on CNN all day long.

King of Belgium

Following hot on the heels of US President Barack Obama, Albert II, King of the Belgians, just relaunched his website on Drupal. Check it out at http://www.monarchie.be.

USASpending.gov

Vivek Kundra, the CIO of the United States, unveiled the new IT spending dashboards at http://it.usaspending.gov earlier this week. Tim O'Reilly has all the details in his blog post titled Radical transparency: the new federal IT dashboard. In short, the dashboards are designed to help CIOs of individual government agencies get a handle on the effectiveness of government IT spending. The site was built with Drupal.

ASI

ASI is in Italy what NASA is in the USA. ASI is the Italian national agency for space activities, and works primarily with the European Space Agency & NASA. Among their many projects include recent work on construction of the International Space Station. Turns out their site uses Drupal at http://www.asi.it.

MIT

It would be interesting to get a list of all the Drupal sites at MIT -- I know they have quite a few. Recently, MIT's well-known Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) launched its new and improved website using Drupal at http://www.csail.mit.edu.

British Council

English Online is an initiative created by the British Council to encourage the learning of English in China. In good Drupal style, the site boasts a number of social networking features such as personal profiles, blogs and forums to connect a community of over 60,000 users.

Mozilla Thunderbird

Mozilla launched spreadthunderbird.com this week. Spread Thunderbird is the volunteer-run Thunderbird advocacy site where community marketing activities are organized to raise awareness and to promote the adoption of Thunderbird, Mozilla's Open Source e-mail application. The Spread Thunderbird site is powered by Drupal and uses the Acquia Marina theme.

Mike Bloomberg

Just when I wrote that more and more universities start to embrace Drupal, the smart people at Harvard's Science and Engineering department relaunched on Drupal.

Hillary Clinton

Democratic Senator Hillary Clinton announced today that she'll embark on a campaign to become the first female president of the United States. And do you know what? Her supporters made her a Drupal campaign website already.

Ubuntu
