Recorded on October 28, 1927 in New York City with blues great Lonnie Johnson on guitar. This tune is about the ravages and paranoia that accompanies cocaine addiction with the chilling lyrics: "Got double pneumonia and still I think I got the best health." Spivey was one of the great blues jazz singers of the twenties and thirties. She recorded with Louis Armstrong and King Oliver. She even had a part in King Vidor's "Hallelujah" in 1929, one of the first, if not the first, films with an all-black cast. She recorded well into the sixties, with Bob Dylan serving as an accompanist on a side she released in 1962.
