[Виктор Iванiв] graduated from Novosibirsk State University, then got his PhD there with the thesis about Russian avantgarde poetry. He worked as a librarian.

The first collection of Ivaniv's prose, Gorod Vinograd, appeared in 2003, the first collection of his poetry, The Glass Man and the Green Record, followed in 2006. Ivaniv’s poems also appear in the anthologies Literature from Outside the Capital, Black on White, Anatomy of an Angel, Cradle of Brotherhood, and 9 Dimensions.
