Apparently, Resist Phony Encores! is a selective memoir, in the form of graphics, images and mass communications, by musician Gruff Rhys.

Based on a PowerPoint presentation that he performed at the 2018 Edinburgh festival, he weaves crowd psychology and anecdotes from dealings with various audiences through designer Mark James’ xeroxed graphics and doctored photos, as well as the cue cards, which - for the last 15 years or so - Rhys has been using as part of his live performances.

Hat & Beard press is an independent publisher based on Los Angeles that produces pop culture books of historical significance across all mediums of the arts.
