This agreement contains the terms and conditions for using the readme.cc project. It applies to all components of the readme.cc project for its entire duration. The operators of readme.cc reserve the right to amend and add to this user’s agreement. Hence all users should periodically reread the following terms and conditions.

Changes and additions will be announced in the Newsletter.

The objectives of the readme.cc project

readme.cc is a cultural project which was initiated by the association p&s melk. Project partners can be found on the page "About US".

The aim of readme.cc is to create a literary platform which regularly provides new tips for books which people can read to understand and acquaint themselves with new books and new opinions about books.

readme.cc invites participants to photograph themselves with books, to create personal bookshelves and compare notes with other participants. readme.cc collects books which readers think will also be good reads in the future, irrespective of whether they are fiction or non-fiction. Within the scope of this agreement, participants of readme.cc can contribute text, photo, video* and audio* files which are then available for viewing by all other participants.

Participation in readme.cc is free of charge.

(*Technically, it is not yet possible to upload video and audio files onto readme.cc)

Users’ profiles/Online data

Your e-mail-addresses and all other personal data which they supply in registering or subscribing for the newsletter will not be passed on to third parties. No personal data of any kind will be passed on to others.

Fotobot use

one of the digital cameras – so-called Fotobots – installed for the project. By clicking on 'OK” when asked to 'save photo”, users consent to their photographs being stored and published on readme.cc.

 

Text, photo, video and audio files

Participants have the opportunity to contribute text, photo, video and audio files to the readme.cc project. These files are then accessible to the public at large.
   
readme.cc is a cultural project. Hence users are not to misuse the space provided by readme.cc for advertisements or other commercial enterprises.

 

Rights to text, photo, video and audio files

Participants explicitly waive any transferable rights they may have to the text, photo, video and audio files which they have contributed. By doing so they make it possible for these files to be published within the scope of the readme.cc project. This also means their content may be published by the media partners of readme.cc. Project partners are also free to use any content contributed to readme.cc to promote the readme.cc project.
   
The operators of readme.cc also reserve the right to alter or delete all contributions by users without restriction and compensation.
   
Text, photo, video and audio files supplied by participants to readme.cc which are unlawful in content, immoral or may be found offensive by a third party will not be published. It is prohibited to publish material that threatens third parties or incites someone to an act violating or punishable under criminal or civil law. The text, photo, video and audio files may not violate the rights of third parties, especially copyrights.
   
The operators are not responsible for the links which readme.cc provides to other Internet pages.
   
The decision to publish or not publish a contribution lies exclusively with the operators of readme.cc. If a contribution is published, liability in terms of criminal and civil law remains with the participant involved.

 

Use of readme.cc content

The use of any readme.cc content outside of the project without the written consent of the project operators is prohibited.

Partners may use content, within the parameters of the project, following consultation with the project direction.

 

Liability of the operators of readme.cc

The operators accept no liability for damages to a participant or project partner which is incurred by the use of files or other content offered at readme.cc, due to the loss of data due to the use of readme.cc or by the use of a Fotobot.

 

Place of jurisdiction and applicable law

This user’s agreement is subject to Austrian law. The place of jurisdiction is Melk on the Danube in Austria.
   
If parts or individual formulations of this text are not, no longer or incompletely consistent with prevailing case law, all other parts of it remain unaffected in their content and validity.
