readme is an open literary platform, but also a center of competence. In support of the latter is the idea to deepen the collaboration with major national and international partners and to strengthen the quality of readme's expertise.
Therefore readme founded two new platforms that are open to collaborations.
AWARDS: Prizes and awards
awards is a platform for European Literary Prizes and Awards. It showcases authors and their work and is intended to promote communication across language barriers. Within this context, readme.cc cooperates with institutions that award literary prizes.
Readme.cc will regularly publish longlists, shortlists and the names of winners, and the award-winning texts will be translated into all readme.cc languages on a monthly basis. Every prize and every award will get its own website which users will be able to enter and search separately. All book titles will be marked with a special icon but will stay embedded in the readme system and so it will still be possible to find them on www.readme.cc.
ARCHIVES: National literary documentaries
archives is a platform for the documentation of national literatures which will be translated and thus opened up for international recognition. However, this return to the level of ‘national languages’, has to be seen within the context of an internationalization of literary information. Hence the aim of these records is to give the community an insight into literary developments over the past few years and to direct its attention to exciting new books which have already got the attention of readers on a national level.
In terms of functionality (book tips, bookshelves, commentaries etc.) and design, these two new platforms are part of readme.cc. They are superficially different insofar as they show another colour and a simpler structure, but the sites themselves are closely linked with readme.cc.
