More about Angelika Reitzer
Angelika Reitzer was born in Graz in 1971. She studied German language and literature in Salzburg and Berlin and graduated in 1998 with a work on Ernst Jandl’s poetry. Subsequently, she had a number of jobs in the fields of art and culture; since 2004, she has lived in Vienna and worked as a freelance author (writing prose, poetry, and drama) and a subeditor. She is a member of the Graz Authors’ Assembly (GAV).
Angelika Reitzer’s prose works are not conventional, linear stories. Rather the lives, careers, and relationships of her protagonists are embedded in a dense web of fragments, images, and seemingly marginal observations that still fit together perfectly. In their interaction, they create odd poetic narrative spaces that cannot be explained rationally but open themselves to us if read alertly.
