More about Zsuzsanna Gahse
Zsuzsanna Gahse escaped with her parents from Hungary in 1956. She lived in Vienna, Cassel and for a long period in Stuttgart. Today she lives in Müllheim/Thurgau.
Her publications since 1969 have appeared in anthologies and literary journals such as “Akzente”, “Neue Deutsche Literatur” and “Neue Sirene”.
A selection of literary publications – since 1983 – in German are: “Zero”, Munich 1983; “Stadt, Land, Fluß”, Munich 1988; “Kellnerroman”, Hamburg 1996; “Wie geht es dem Text?”, Hamburg 1997 and “Oh, Roman”, Vienna 2005.
Translations from Hungarian since 1987 of works by Péter Esterházy, Péter Nádas and Zsuzsa Rakovsky et al., “Texte für Bildende Kunst, Szenische Arbeiten”: “Leidlos” (UA 1993), “Kaktuswortfahrt” (performed in Engadin in 2000) and many others. Part-time lecturing position (writers’ workshop) at Tübingen University (1989–93) and a lectureship in poetics in 1993 at Bamberg University.
Zsuzsanna Gahse was awarded numerous scholarships and prizes, among them, the aspekte-Literaturpreis in 1984.
