Finn-Ole Heinrich was born on 13 September 1982 on the outskirts of Hamburg. He grew up in Cuxhaven and studied film in Hanover. Since 2009, he has been living and working as a freelance author in Hamburg (and on trains). His debut work was published in 2005, a collection of stories entitled „die taschen voll wasser“ [pockets full of water]; both readers and critics received it with enthusiasm. Besides writing books and contributing to anthologies, Heinrich has made a number of (short) films.

Finn-Ole Heinrich is a remarkable chronicler of his generation. His stories confirm his fine sense for hidden malice and secret longings. He has won several prizes, and published 2009 a collection of stories, „Gestern war auch schon ein Tag“ [Yesterday Was a Day, Too], and the audio book „Auf meine Kappe“ [It All Goes Back to Me].

Besides two books he has shot several (short) films, which also received several awards. The site http://www.finnoleheinrich.de/film.php shows excerpts from them.
