More about Julian Schutting

Born in Amstetten / Lower Austria as Jutta Schutting on 25 Oktober 1937.
Training as a photographer and study of history and German literature at the University of Vienna.
From 1965 taught at a higher technical college in Vienna.
Publication of prose and poetry since the early 1970s.
Member of the Grazer Autorenversammlung.
1989: sex change, in order to achieve a state of “harmony with a lifelong experience of self”.
Lives under the official name of Julian Schutting as a freelance writer in Vienna.
His work comprises some 50 books, above all prose, poetry and critiques of the philosophy of language, but also texts on art and music.
