Michal Hvorecký, b. 1976, writer and journalist, lives in Bratislava. He writes novels, novellas and essays. He was awarded several literary prizes. His books have been translated into Italian, Polish, Czech and German.
On his latest book – “Death on the River Danube” – a fascinating novel about a journey of finding oneself. A composition in homage to the river that also has plenty to relate about European history.” (WDR5)
