More about Nicoleta Esinencu
Nicoleta Esinencu, born in 1978 in Chişinău, where she studied theatre science and scenography and where she has been working since 2002 as play-writer of the Eugène Ionesco theatre. She was awarded the Dramacum price for her play “FUCK YOU, Eu.ro.Pa!” (translated into German in 2005), a play that released violent political debates in Romania and in the Republic of Moldavia. Her plays were performed in Romania, Moldavia, Sweden, Germany, Russia, Japan, France and Austria. She had a scholarship at the academy Solitude in Stuttgart in 2003, in 2006 a Recollects scholarship in Paris and 2007 a theatre scholarship in Bourges, France.
