More about Taras Prochasko

Taras Prochasko was born on 16 May 1968 in the East Galician town of Ivano-Frankivsk in the Ukraine. After studying biology at Lviv, he returned in 1992 to his hometown where he joined the literary group connected to the newly founded magazine “Tschetwer” (Thursday). His first lyric and prose works were published in the magazine which he also occasionally co-edited. Taras Prochasko now lives and works as an author and journalist for the weekly newspaper “Halyc’kyj korespondent” in Ivano-Frankivsk. He is also a member of the Association of Ukrainian Authors and a scholarship holder at the Literary Colloquium Berlin. His books have been translated into Polish, Russian, Serbian, Czech, German and American.
