Priya Basil, b. 1977, writer, lives in London and Berlin. Her novels have been translated into several languages. She supports Control Arms, an amnesty international campaign, iansa and Oxfam, which lobby for stricter arms controls worldwide. Priya Basil co-founded the AUTHORS FOR PEACE campaign.
The writer describes with great sensitivity – she is also from an Indian family and lived for a long time in Kenya – the portrait of a young woman torn by her contradictory feelings. It is a Romeo and Juliet scenario, although without the fatal ending. (Johannes Kaiser, Deutschlandradio Kultur)
