More about Isabella Straub
Born in Vienna in 1968. After university study of minority subjects she worked first as a journalist and then as a copywriter. Graduate of the Leondinger Akademie für Literatur (Leonding Academy of Literature), 2008/2009. Lives in Klagenfurt.
Her short stories have earned her many awards: she was a finalist for the Werner Bräunig Literature Prize in 2009, winner of Wortlaut in 2011 and the Longlist MDR (Central German Radio) Literature Prize in 2012. Her first novel, “Südbalkon”, was published by Aufbau as part of their Blumenbar programme in March 2013.
