Sigui and Ilmar have lost their daughter, a drug addict. Two years later, Sigui is casting around in search of a truth, or an explanation. Ilmar, a theatre costume designer, wants to tear her away from this futile quest and launches the project of a masked ball to which all of the neighbours from their apartment building will be invited.
