As I did explained in my original email, I do not intend to say you've agreed with the logic or the points presented by FBA. For taking the time to listen we are thankful. We will continue with our endeavors to find common points of agreement with the council. I can assure you the position of FBA is positive and we are willing to work together with all parties involved to resolved the problems created with the erection of the signs. Also please extend our thanks to Mr Shaw as well. We would like to send him a copy of these this email for his Records, unfortunately we do not have his contact details to thank him personally. Please find below a summary of the points we presented during the session. I hope you agree on the accuracy of these points. Please let me know if there is anything you would like to see modified / updated. This request is not about asking you to agree with the points, just merely to agree these points were presented by FBA to yourself. Participants in the meeting; From FBA: Chris Efstathiou Katina Mellado Juan Mellado From the Randwick Council: Cr Robert Belleli Mr Mark Shaw Please see below (not in order) the points, we as FBA presented to Cr Belleli and Mr Shaw in this session: FBA proposed the following; * To establish clear boundaries for Naturism at Little Congwong. Starting from the sand line at Little Congwong to the end of the beach. The rocks between Little Congwong and Congwong will not be areas for Naturism. * To have clear and visible signs in the access areas to Little Congwong, warning the public that Nude people can be found in the area ahead. How will the group contribute to keep the nature harmony at Little Congwong; * We will assist and work together with the council in looking for a win-win outcome. * At the beach we have an Ôeducational programÕ running for almost a year. This plan consists of a sign visible to every person coming onto the sand. We also encourage talk to beach goers to maintain and follow these guidelines Support for Naturism; * Nudity is NOT illegal or a crime. The council has the power and a duty of care to make sure appropriate areas are designated and properly marked as such. * A fictitious representation of the Little Congwong visitors demographic is held by the council. * Media and Law representatives have visited the beach and have come to realize the council facts are misplaced. * After media engagement from the council, public support is evident on the side of naturism for the beach. * The NSW law society will be publishing an article in the April edition stating the fact in previous bullet points. * Every media outlet has being extremely positive about our cause. Many have approached us offering support. FBA have accepted so far the local media in a constructive and positive way. About the council decision: * The process followed did not involve all parties concerned. * Decision taken by the council goes against Australian values. * Decision was based on a handful of ÔallegationsÕ made over a period of 10 years. * Illegal activities at Congwong beach, dunes in the local area and toilet block near the Car Park. None of these places are closed to the public. * Real facts about illegal activity were not sought by the council before the decision was made. * The ruling and campaign against up naturism need to be amended. Wrong ruling against others have been amended. Such as others laws in the past against woman, aboriginals, etc, etc. * The allegations of intimate encounters at the beach are not accurate. * We donÕt see Schools, churches or parks being closed off limits to the public when abuse happens at those places. We see individuals prosecuted. We already have laws regulating the prohibitions of these activities. * The raid by police a few weeks ago was an excessive over the top exercise and abuse of resources. Two police boats (one no marked as police, but police in uniform filming the beach), and a numbers of police in plain clothes and carrying guns? An excessive demonstration of power for the people to be clothed. * The attack on Naturists at the beach has seen bad publicity for the council decisions and use of police resources * We will continue looking for venues of communications including talking through the media and directly engaging the councillors. Kind Regards, Chris, Katina and Juan. ------ End of Forwarded Message
