From: Free Beach Action Date: Monday, 12 December 2005 12:13 PM Subject: Free Beach Letters IV I recently had a friend over from the US. She had never been to a nudist beach and was a bit sceptical about going, but agreed to go when I promised that firstly she didn't need to strip if she didn't want to and that we would leave immediately if she felt in the least uncomfortable. We went down to Cobblers, where she took one look at the beach and everyone there and stripped without any hesitation. We spent a great day there and went back a week or two later for a second round. She later told me that despite her being totally naked, she had never enjoyed a day at the beach as much and she looks forward to more visits next time she comes over. She also had nothing but praise for all the people at the beach, saying they were the best-behaved beach goers she had ever seen. Mike Vos Padstow (A Cobblers regular for the last 6 years) My fellow naturists, I believe the time is near when we must take our lifestyle and our fight out of the clubs, away from the secluded beaches, out of private homes and backyards, or by stealth of night and cover of darkness. To end the secrecy and the shame. We must unite and be open in our expression of freedom and human spirit. To express that which is good and natural. We need to convene in our largest cities, in the lightness of day, in the busiest hour. To rally and demand our virtuosity to perhaps the most fundamental and neglected of human rights, the right to be naked. To be naked at any time, in any place, be it private or public. To be naked as all people were born. We should march in numbers, in joyous protest and celebration. To show the world and all eyes who we truly are. To bring change in the culture and laws of this country, dealing oppression a deathly blow. To live health and happiness. This is my dream. This is to be Australian. Stuart Baanstra Alexandria To "naturists" Gerald Ganglbauer and Sylvia Else (Talkback, 4/12): Cro-Magnon man had no clothing, so he went nude. In 2005, we have a plethora of flattering swimwear on offer. Tuck your tangly bits in and get on with it. Susan Cohen (w/o address)
