From: Free Beach Action Date: Monday, 30 January 2006 2:00 PM Subject: Free Beach Letters IX Gerald Little Congwong has been an unofficial 'free' beach for more than 5 decades. I and my family have used it as such for 25 years. Unlike the official 3 harbourside free beaches - Obelisk, Cobblers and Lady Jane - no private housing can be seen from the beach. Like these beaches, surrounding land at Congwong is national park. Why can't we legitimise Little Congwong by placing signs as has been done at Cobblers - "Nudity permitted on beach only". That way people finding nudity would be warned and those wishing to disrobe other than on Little Congwong Beach would be in no doubt that they are breaking the law. Randwick councillors should also consider the environment. I and fellow nudists spend a lot of time cleaning rubbish from the beach making it one of the most pristine in metropolitan Sydney. You only have to compare the cleanliness of the main beach at Congwong to see the difference. Regards Nick Seabrook Ramsgate
