From: Free Beach Action Date: Thursday, 2 February 2006 9:03 AM Subject: Free Beach Letters X "Leave us Alone" I have been going to Little Congwong Beach for many years, in fact, my children have grown up on the beach, they are now 14 and 10 and are still coming with me. I took them to Queensland for the first time last year and kept raving about the wonderful beaches there, guess what? They weren't interested, they wanted to go to "our beach". I take my children there because it is really clean, very safe and we have made a lot of wonderful friends there. Nudity is natural, and is a very beautiful thing to teach children so they have no inhibitions. I don't want them to think that being nude is dirty, there is nothing more beautiful than the human body. I come from a very strict Greek upbringing, where we were taught that being naked was dirty, and it took me along time to be comfortable with my body, I don't want that for my children. Re comment by Susan Cohen (ST, 27/11): get a bloody life! You certainly have issues Susan. Come down to Little Congwong on a Sunday and point out the perverts and pedophiles! Or bring a picnic and enjoy meeting wonderful people from every walk of life! People come from all over Sydney just to spend a few glorious hours away from the norm. We need this beach and we certainly deserve this beach. I invite everyone to come and see if they can find a cleaner beach in Sydney where people even take there cigarette butts home, where the sand is raked and everybody respects each other. We need to keep this "free beach", don't take it away from us. Christine Efstathiou Marrickville
