Daniela Meisel was born in Horn and grew up in Baden, Lower Austria.
At university, she studied biology with concentrations in behavioral research and marine biology.
After sojourns in South Africa and California, she began work at the University of Vienna's School for Medicine, then moved to Linz in 2008 and attended the Academy for Literature in Leonding.
After working as a cultural mediator for the Upper Austrian Provincial Museums, she returned to Lower Austria and worked as a biology teacher.
She completed training with BOes (Austrian Association for Professional Writers) in 2016.
She works as a freelance writer and writing teacher and lives with her family in Pfaffstätten, Lower Austria.
