This workshop is aimed at everyone across all trades and fields who deal with the promotion of reading skills and literature. Re-known networker, literary critic and co-founder of the EU-subsidized virtual library project README.CC, Beat Mazenauer, will discuss the potential and possible problems of the communication of literature and literary communication in the ‘World Wide Web'. Drawing from his extensive experience as networker, blogger and cultural communicator, Beat will explain how web-projects and net-communities like readme.cc were built and planned to have an impact on the international and national cultural sphere. He will provide an insight into the mechanics of the European market of net-literature, discussing the implications of the web for publishers, authors and cultural policy makers, using his experience as founding member of the "Swiss Ministry of Culture", an independent platform for cultural exchange in Switzerland.
