iTunes Editors’ Notes

The band’s sixth album finds them cementing their own legacy in an era when careers often last as long as a day’s Twitter feed. “Centuries” is all about cultural staying power, while the poppy “The Kids Aren’t Alright” and the perfect “Favorite Record” advance similar pop-culture themes but with melancholic underscores. Overall, the set’s a sweetly unhinged collection of rock riffs, hip-hop grooves, Indian music motifs, gang vocals, aged electronica, pop-punk refrains gone Hollywood, and nods to everyone from Uma Thurman to Suzanne Vega to Mötley Crüe. Patrick Stump’s full-bodied voice and the band’s pure songwriting acumen handily hold the disparities together.

Deserves more than 5

The songs on this album have the kind of lyrics where you want hem tattooed everywhere on your body, it's beautiful and breathtaking and overall perfect <3

Back and as good as ever

The world first heard Fall Out Boy more than a decade ago. Their sound has changed, but the quality of their music has not. Touching on themes from Ferguson to fatherhood, the lyrics here, like all from Fall Out Boy, speak to something genuine and true, and the melodic hooks are catchy and take the unexpected turns that so few songs can actually attain. Consistency is a virtue, and it exists in abundance with Patrick, Pete, Joe, and Andy. This album is a natural artistic evolution no less effective than the Fall Out Boy albums of yesteryear. Here’s to another great album!

Get Over It

All you people saying its not same and not Fall Out Boy, get over it. They want to try something new, let them. If you were a true, loyal fan, you would stay with them no matter what. In the end its all Fall Out Boy.
