This Warm December stuffs your stocking with the luminaries of Jack Johnson’s Brushfire Records roster. It opens with the soft-spoken surfing serenader turning Stevie Wonder’s hopeful “Someday At Christmas” into an acoustic coffeehouse jam that would go great with sipping an eggnog latte while huddling in beach blankets next to a campfire on the sand. Breathy bard Neil Halstead strips down Fountains Of Wayne’s “The Man In the Santa Suit,” brilliantly transforming the quirky carol into a wistfully nostalgic number. Another awesome cover comes from Rogue Wave, revamping the Who’s “Christmas” from Tommy into a lo-fi musing warm enough to fog up the horn-rims of even the most jaded indie kids. The festive funk of Money Mark’s smile-inducing “Stuck At the Airport” and ALO’s upbeat “Christmas Time” keep the compilation from sounding too one-dimensional, as does G. Love’s rootsy and harmonica-heavy “Christmas Baby.” ALO frontman Zach Gill’s whispery rendition of “Silent Night” will warm your insides like mulled wine.

Excellent Album
I am not going to lie, this album is so good I think you can listen to it year round! I am digging Zee Avi. She has an amazing voice!
A Holly, Jolly, & Mellow Christmas
This is an awesome group of artists who have taken the traditional christmas tunes and put the brushfire feel to it. Jack Johnson truely makes the album come together, especially with his version of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer (my favorite song on the album), and only Jack is lucky enough to have a nice warm December at his home in Hawaii. In addition, all of the artists on the album really step up to the plate and deliver some very solid Christmas jingles. So whether you are lucky enough to have a warm December or if you get to enjoy the snow and some hot cocoa, this is a great holiday gift from brushfire records. By the way, the whole album is availible to preview on the iLike app on facebook, so be sure and check it out and have a merry Christmas!
Home for the Holidays
This album is like the frosting on the cake...or the whip cream on a nice mug of hot chocolate. Jack Johnson and the rest of the Brushfire family have cooked up a lovely holiday treat. I use to hate celebrating the holidays early (like before thanksgiving), but listening "This Warm December Vol 1"...I am really into the holiday spirit once again. Plus the Matt Costa song is goregous. Overall this album is a must buy for the holiday season. You will probably be listening to this album all year round.
