THIS ALBUM IS ON FIRE!

Alicia Keys is one of those artists that rarely ever disappoints with her music. And with her fifth studio album, "Girl On Fire", she delivers yet another winner. The tracks on here are some of the best she's ever written, from the beautifully stripped-down love song "Not Even the King" to the heartfelt acoustic, romantic ballad "That's When I Knew". Even the triumphant and upbeat pop singles "New Day" and "Girl On Fire" are incredibly infectious thanks to their slick production and Alicia's strong vocals, although a few of the cliché-ridden lyrics about empowerment can wear thin. Perhaps my favorite track on the album, though, is "Fire We Make", a soulful slow jam duet with Maxwell. Their voices are matches in R&B heaven, and with the graceful guitar work of Gary Clark, Jr. in the background, this tender love song is truly the record's biggest standout. While I must admit that "Girl On Fire" isn't as groundbreaking as 2001's "Songs In A Minor" or sonically adventurous as 2007's "As I Am", it still stands as her most consistent album to date. By adding new modern flourishes to her classic R&B sound, Alicia continues to explore love past and present with an exuberant mood that prevails throughout. It's a fierce, confident set of songs that only further strengthens Keys' title as one of the most talented and self-assured artists in the R&B industry today. Whether you've been a fan of Alicia since the very beginning or are just now discovering her diverse collection of music for the first time, this new album is an absolute must-buy.

Alicia Keys brings us a new perspective on life in this musical masterpiece and it's amazing! From what we've seen thus far, she gives her all into every album down to each song and it's greatly appreciated by fans all over. From collaborations with great songwriters and even a fiery duet with Maxwell, I'm sure there is a song to love right away. Definitely a must buy, you will not be disappointed!
