Welcome to York Neuroimaging Centre

Established in 2005, we are a NeuroImaging research centre servicing the requirements of a number of departments of the University of York. Thanks to a number of grants and contributions, the centre has been able to invest extensively in technologies to help us to better understand the chemistry, physiology and psychology of human brain function.

We use two 3 Tesla MRI scanners, a 248 channel whole-head MEG system, EEG, TMS and TDCS to perform research measurements at the centre. We also have a number of behavioural testing suites, a sound proof room for acoustical testing and we provide users with a dedicated high performance data processing centre (cluster).

The centre is currently directed by Tony Morland. YNiC is part of the Department of Psychology and has strong links with the Centre for Hyperpolarisation in Magnetic Resonance and Hull York Medical School (HYMS).
