In 2012, Tim Persent, originally from South Africa, will have been dancing in the Netherlands for a quarter of a century. The Holland Dance Festival is devoting a whole evening to this exceptional dancer, who has become a real icon of Dutch dance, with his inspiring and engaging theatre personality, exceptional technical gifts and great musical talent, for which he received the Silver Theatre Dance Award in 1993 and the ‘Gouden Zwaan’ award in 2004.

A Dance Concert , a programme of short dance pieces, live music and film fragments, has been assembled by Persent himself. He wants to celebrate his anniversary by giving something back to the audience that has supported him over the years. To this end, he has collaborated with several of his greatest sources of inspiration, who have been responsible for many highlights of his career. The programme includes contributionsby choreographers Andrea Leine en Harijono Roebana, Ton Simons, Ann Van den Broek and Richard Alston, Jefta van Dinther and soprano Claron McFadden. The programme is directed by Theu Boermans.
