The European Literature Days comprise a symposium with invited and accredited participants. The focus is on themes chosen annually and presented by the Observatory for European Contemporary Literature (www.literaturhauseuropa.eu), as well as public readings and literary debates with European writers, film screenings and concerts.
ELit Literaturehouse Europe will be funded by the EU
On October 1st 2014 The European Commision decided to support ELit Literaturehouse Europe in the EU programme Creative Europe from 2015 to 2019. This is a very important step in the developement of a project that is focused on communicating European literature across liguistic and cultural borders. ELit Literaturehouse Europe headquarters is in Wachau/Lower Austria. With the implementation of the EU project it expands its activities to following countries: France (Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris), Germany (Literaturhaus Europa), Great Britain (Sounds Right London), Hungary (European Cultural Foundation Budapest), Slovenia (Beletrina-Academic Press). It aims at finding new ways of working and networking within Europe and at expanding its partnerships to further European countries.
