In 2021 Heather will join the Machine Wilderness artist research programme at ARTIS Zoo in Amsterdam. During her residency she will explore the art of interference, focusing on the uninvited creatures and organisms that share their habitat with the display animals. Machine Wilderness is commissioned by Zone2Source, FoAM and ARTIS.

Heather is currently working on the development of The Realm: an interactive immersive project exploring collective behaviour in biodigital ecosystems. The immersive project is a collaboration with tech company Tengio, SHOAL group (Swansea University), Kampff lab (UCL), computational artist Andy Lomas and composer Heloise Tunstall-Behrens, working with arebyte gallery.
