iTunes Editors’ Notes

Following Quadron's impressive 2013 eponymous debut album, composer/producer Robin Braun and singer Coco O were courted for collaboration by such notables as The Creator, The Internet, Christopher "Tricky" Stewart, and Leon Ware. Coco appeared on the soundtrack to The Great Gatsby, while Braun formed Rhye with Canadian electronic producer Milosh. After much anticipation, Quadron’s sophomore album lives up to the buzz orbiting around the Denmark duo. From the breezy funk of the opening song, “LFT,” more high-end production is immediately apparent. (That's likely due to the duo's signing to Sylvia Rhone’s Epic subsidiary label, Vested in Culture.) “Favorite Star” trails with cosmopolitan aplomb as Coco coos like a softer, younger version of Lady Miss Kier of Deee-Lite. But it’s the infectious single “Hey Love” that comes laced with barbed pop hooks and a hammer-dropping chorus. While Quadron has an obvious love of dance-floor confections, a knack for narrative surfaces in “Neverland,” a slightly melancholy R&B standout with lyrics musing on the crippling loneliness of a Michael Jackson impersonator.

Treehome95

I'm a huge fan of Tyler, The Creator and on his latest album was a song called "Treehome95" and it had a jazzy feel that I loved. With further investigation, and a little help from reddit, I found Coco O and I fell in love! Can't wait for the album!

An offshoot of the Denmark-based Boom Clap Bachelors massive collective, Quadron is an avant R&B (with an occasional nudge toward folk-soul) duo of multi-instrumentalist/producer Robin Braun (aka Robin Hannibal, also one-half of the duo Owusu & Hannibal) and vocalist Coco O. In 2009, Quadron began issuing their collaborations, led by the off-center mid-'60s soul throwback "Slippin," which was used in the film Se Min Kjole. A little later in the year, outside their homeland, BBC DJ Gilles...
