iTunes Editors’ Notes
Though Go Girl Crazy is often considered the essential album in The Dictators' '70s catalog, Bloodbrothers is the one hardcore Dictators fans play the most. The Dictators were considered one of New York City's premier rock 'n' roll bands, and on a good night they epitomized all that was essential to the spirit of the music in the same way The Clash symbolized the same from the U.K. "Faster and Louder" adds a guest backing vocal from fellow East Coast rocker Bruce Springsteen, but it's best known as a live favorite (along with "Baby Let's Twist" and "No Tomorrow/The Minnesota Strip," which features Ross "The Boss" Friedman on definitive lead guitar). "Stay with Me" and "Borneo Jimmy" show Andy Shernoff at the top of his songwriting game. The cover of The Flamin' Groovies' "Slow Death" further aligns The Dictators with the rock 'n' roll underground, just as their cover of The Stooges' "Search and Destroy" did on Manifest Destiny. There isn't a bad cut here, and many are among the greatest rock 'n' roll of any era.

All killer, no filler for sure. It's amazing this album was released in 1977 - way ahead of it's time.
Attention, now hear this!!
Songs that do not require "genius" and "PC" depth to rock on. I am proud to crank up the car stereo with my favorite girl and watch the sophisticated types flee.Great fun!
Vastly underrated record from a legendary band!
Compilations of NY (or American) punk never include any tracks from this record which is puzzling to me because I think its one of the greatest of all time! I've had the good fortune to see the Dictators a couple times and these songs still sound amazing live! The hard rock boogie of Baby Let's Twist is my fav but this record is totally awesome. Also check out I Live for Cars and Girls from their debut Go Girl Crazy (its omitted from Itunes, but do yourself a favor and find it!)
