iTunes Review
This album is Mastered for iTunes. Though Bob Dylan is responsible in large part for the concept of the modern singer-songwriter, he'd only rarely given us music that featured the plainspoken intimacy and confessional nature that came to be associated with the style. Recorded in 1974, Blood on the Tracks changed all that. After building walls around himself for the better part of a decade, Dylan composed an honest and deeply personal statement that is a powerful eulogy for a failed relationship. With mellow acoustic guitars strumming behind him, Dylan displays some bitterness ("Idiot Wind"), some sorrow ("Simple Twistof Fate", some sentimentality ("You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go"),some thankfulness ("Shelter from the Storm"), and some sympathy ("You're a Big Girl Now"). Mostly, though, he shows a deep appreciation for the beauty of what he once had. The opener "Tangled Up in Blue" eloquently sets up the story. One of his most powerful singing performances, Dylan's voice shows a full range of emotion as he searches for beauty and hope among the pain and disappointment.

Blood on the Tracks (1974)
This, surprisingly, is perhaps my most favorite dylan album. I love his 60's records, and no one will contest their unparalleled influence and sophistication. Still, I give this album highest marks for both its masterful lyricism and its unmatched musicality. For the pure emotion, the consistency of the songs, and its beauty, buy this album. I may just be a sucker for music written in response to tragedy, but this is a timeless classic. Five Stars.
Lifes bloody corners
So good I can be blue for a week after listening on a rainy Sunday alone
The Divorce Album
This is one of two great divorce albums, the other being Willie Nelson's Phases and Stages. Although Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts seems a tad out of sync with the other songs, these expressions capture the wide range of emotions and thoughts everyone experiences during a separation. Simple Twist of Fate has absorbing imagery. Idiot Wiind is as angry as one can get while retaining a pensive quality. If You See Her, Say Hello is tender and lovely. This is one album that should be purchased as an album.
