Album Review

Candlebox rode the alternative bandwagon to the top of the charts with their self-titled debut album. Taking the heaviest moments of Soundgarden and Alice in Chains and adding both the confinements of a pop song and the attitude of album rock, Candlebox managed to sell over two million copies of their first album. Nothing on Candlebox is particularly catchy — the singles "You" and "Far Behind" are the closest they come to memorable melodies — but there is enough sheer riff power to satisfy fans of their singles.

candlebox

By far one of the most underated rock bands of the 90's. This entire album rocks and can be played from beginning to end. Rain is one of their best songs. Worth downloading the entire album.

Candlebox

I love this cd. First seen them when they were with Metallica back in 93.

Great classic 90s album

I love this album. I was a teenager when this came out and holy crap does it bring back some good memories. The power of music... Cover me my favorite song on the album. All you kids growing up now, buy this album if you like some good rock, you will see how music used to be made.

Also by the way to the person who said there was not crap pop in the 90's.. You remember mc hammer, vanilla ice, how about new kids on the block, yea there was crap back then just not as much as there is now.

To be sure, Candlebox's take on grunge diluted the punk and indie elements inherent in its original form; instead, they were rooted in the bluesy, classic-style hard rock that grunge had ostensibly replaced. Their resulting commercial appeal made them highly suspect in the minds of authenticity-obsessed...
