Editors’ Notes

On the follow-up to The Marshall Mathers LP, Eminem set out to broaden his already wide artistic horizons. He makes his most overt nods yet to rock music, borrowing Aerosmith's "Dream On" for the basis of "Sing for the Moment," and gets explicitly political about his job on "White America" ("I could be one of your kids"). At the same time, he takes himself no more seriously than usual, mocking any hint of grandiosity on "My Dad's Gone Crazy," which invites his beloved daughter Hailie to take funny shots at the old man. "Superman" pulls a similar trick not only with the rapper's image, but the macho pose intrinsic to commercial hip-hop.

Da Best

This is Eminem's best album he's made. Every song is awsome an has a rememberable beat. I've listened to it the most out of my CD's. The best songs are (in no order): Cleanin' Out Ny Closet, Square Dance, Without Me, Sing For The Moment, Hailie's Song, When The Music Stops, My Dad's Gone Crazy & Drips. So to sum things up, GET THIS ALBUM!!!

Haters!

Haters, imagine this guy? This guy has put so much effort into this album and his hellish life. After having his daughter deprived from him, having a wife that won't get off is back, and haters that humiliate him like you, are too much for Shady to handle. Give him some slack once and a while! Besides, this guy has amazing lyrics nobody has ever matched. Shady is a legend no one will forget. Shady doesn't have to sing, but at least he tried! Listen to Hailie's song (You'll never know just by the sample)! You don't have to like Eminem, just don't insult him. He's better than any of you haters, and he would wipe you all over the floor in rapping any time! Everyone has their strengths and weakness's anyway.

eminems best

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

To call Eminem hip-hop's Elvis is correct to a degree, but it's largely inaccurate. Certainly, Eminem was the first white rapper since the Beastie Boys to garner both sales and critical respect, but his impact exceeded this confining distinction. On sheer verbal skills, Eminem was one of the greatest MCs of his generation — rapid, fluid, dexterous, and unpredictable, as capable of pulling off long-form narrative as he was delivering a withering aside — and thanks to his mentor Dr. Dre,...
