A dance piece by Modjgan HashemianTongue twisters, no purpose! We love to play - with each other and against each other. Some want to win, some have to lose. That's the way it is, because there are rules. But when does play get serious? And who lays down the rules - of how we should deal with each other, divide spaces, learn languages? Which language does one's own voice have at all? And has my body internalized any language(s)? Can it act out language rules, put rules to the test or even change realities? Six dancers and five young people are challenging the rules of different, international game instructions with their (body) languages: tongues are getting bigger. Curling up. Babbling with laughter. Clicking purposefully. Kissing purposelessly. Twitching sensually. Tasting. Getting sour. Getting twisted. ! tongue twisters !
Dabke Community Dancing
Medhat Aldaabal & Ali HasanNach dem Publikumserfolg von "Dabke Comunity Dancing" im Rahmen von "Weltoffenes Berlin 2018" laden Sasha Waltz & Guests und Radialsystem nun regelmäßig zum gemeinsamen Dabke-Tanzen mit Perkussionist Ali Hasan und Tänzer Medhat Aldaabal ein. Der beliebte und variationsreiche Kreistanz aus dem Nahen Osten trifft in Berlin auf Improvisation, ein generationsübergreifendes Publikum und die Offenheit der Stadt. Der Workshop findet im Saal des Radialsystems statt und ist offen für Menschen unterschiedlichen Alters und geeignet für Kinder ab 10 Jahren. Vorkenntnisse sind nicht erforderlich.
Hopeless. - Open Spaces #1
Choreography by Sergiu MatisPastoral poetry from Greek and Roman antiquity is at the base of Sergiu Matis’s performance "Hopeless." In an unceasingly warming world, what is left of the idyllic, cultivated nature described in the poems of Theocritus and Virgil? Are the poets perhaps themselves responsible for setting it on fire with their trivial erotic turbulence, and their politicising of landscape? In "Hopeless.", we forge our own pastoral settings out of shreds, fragments and remains, like data from a library of sounds of extinct animals, or old and new translations of the Idylls. A desperate act of putting back together, or franticly trying to conserve what's left, all the while mourning the losses yet to come. A general sensation of powerlessness transforms us into spectators at a festival of catastrophes and ruination. The performers in "Hopeless." are technologically enhanced mermaids, nymphs and shepherds that desperately compete to see who can make the audience cry the loudest. The ecology between poetic language and choreography enables words to collide woefully with flesh, and vocal cords to give the tone to motion so that we can shout out loudly, and exorcise all possible dystopian scenarios. Hopelessness is not a state of a paralysis, but a powerful force that moves us to act.
UM:LAUT - The Notwist
Messier Objects in concertWith The Notwist, one of the most important and versatile German indie bands celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2019. Besides numerous celebrated albums and live shows around the globe, the band from Weilheim has again and again entered the dialogue with other art disciplines - for their soundtrack for Hans-Christian Schmid's acclaimed film "Sturm", they were awarded the German Film Prize in 2009. Within the series of UM:LAUT, the band presents a special set of works which they developed for collaborations with film, theatre and radio in recent years. In contrast to the regular, frequently sold-out concerts of The Notwist, the shows at Radialsystem will mainly feature instrumental pieces - inspired by the album "Messier Objects", released in 2015, and in interplay with projections by the video and performance artist Anton Kaun. From electronic collages to minimal music, from free jazz to post-rock experiments - a journey through the extraordinary oeuvre and the constantly expanding but unique musical cosmos of a great band. The Notwist was founded in 1989 in the Upper Bavarian town of Weilheim by the brothers Markus und Micha Acher as well as Martin Messerschmidt, who were later joined by Martin Gretschmann (Console, Acid Pauli), Andi Haberl and Cico Beck, amongst others. With the release of the debut album in 1990, The Notwist were considered one of the most interesting German hardcore bands, before the guitar sounds were directed to more ordered realms on the following albums. This development culminated on the album "Neon Golden" of 2002 with a distinct but highly original combination of indie rock with sound innovations of electronic music. Beyond The Notwist, the Acher brothers were involved in the founding of numerous internationally successful bands such as Tied & Tickled Trio, Lali Puna, Ms. John Soda, or 13&God and operate at the centre of a network of more or less closely interconnected projects of local musicians. In this context many releases came into being on the label "Hausmusik" as well as on the label "Alien Transistor", which they founded in 2003 and which is active until today. Besides various band activities, the musicians regularly work in the fields of film, theatre and radio, and they curate the music festival "Alien Disko" in Munich. After nine album releases and tours around the globe, The Notwist are - not least due to their mutability and adventurousness as well as their originality and recognition factor - regarded as one of the most important German bands.
Chor@Berlin: Singen mit Kindern - ein Carusos-Fortbildungstag
WorkshopDieser Fortbildungstag im Rahmen der Carusos-Initiative des Deutschen Chorverbands bietet allen Erzieher*innen die Gelegenheit, in verschiedenen Workshops ihre Kenntnisse zu vertiefen und neue, praxisnahe Tipps für das Singen mit Kindern zu erhalten. Peter Schindler studierte Schulmusik, Komposition und Orgel sowie Jazz und Popularmusik an der Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart. Als Organist und Pianist führt er mit verschiedenen Ensembles und Interpret*innen vorwiegend eigene Kompositionen im In- und Ausland auf. Zu seinen Werken zählen Chansons, Instrumentalstücke, geistliche Werke, Musik für Ballett und Schauspiel sowie zahlreiche Musicals, Singspiele und Lieder für Kinder und Jugendliche. Eleonore Perneker ist Logopädin und studierte klassischen Gesang bei Prof. Monika Bürgener. Seit 2006 ist sie Lehrbeauftragte der Hochschu-le für Musik Würzburg für Stimmphysiologie, Stimmbildung, Sprecherziehung und Stimm- und Sprechberatung. Sie ist außerdem Dozentin für Sprecherziehung im Referendariat am Gymnasium und für Stimmgesundheit. In eigener Praxis ist sie als Stimmtherapeutin und -pädagogin für Menschen aller Altersgruppen tätig, schwerpunktmäßig in der Betreuung der Pädagogen- und der professionellen Singstimme. Susette Preißler ist Diplom-Musikpädagogin und arbeitet für den Deutschen Chorverband als Carusos-Fachberaterin und Dozentin in der Evaluierung und musikalischen Qualifizierung von Kindertagesstätten. Als freiberufliche Dirigentin, Chorleiterin und Musikpädagogin leitet sie seit vielen Jahren verschiedene Chöre, bringt Musical-Projekte mit Kinderchören auf die Bühne und unterrichtet Klavier und EMP. Seit 2017 ist Susette Preißler als Musiklehrerin an der Evangelischen Grundschule Kleinmachnow tätig und bildet sich in Complete Vocal Technique (CVT) weiter. An der Fachhochschule Clara Hoffbauer Potsdam unterrichtet sie das Fach Chorleitung im Studiengang "Musikpädagogik und Musikvermittlung in sozialer Arbeit".
