The Leonardo EnigmaDa Vinci and the Flora Bust
Purchased in 1909 by art collector Wilhelm Bode for his Berlin museum, the bust of Flora has been the subject of controversy for more than a century. For Bode, encouraged by the German emperor William II, the work was created by Leonardo da Vinci. But others were convinced that the real creator was 19th century English sculptor Richard Cockle Lucas.
