NEW APP THAT FIXES THE NPR BUG AVAILABLE NOW
It is called "NPR Hourly News" and it's free. You don't have to put up with this app being broken anymore.

Sit, Have a cup of coffee, Read --- slow to initially load, but excellent and free
This app may be slow to load --- but is is FREE
Unlike so many other apps out there, the NPR app has both a nice interface and IT IS FREE.
And by free --- I mean truly free.
That said -- it isn't a quick news fix app. This is a 'I've worked for a few hours and deserve a break to have some tea and surf the news' app
This app is amazing
I recently moved to Europe, and have been unable to listen to NPR. Finding this app solved my problem. This app Is the most smooth and streamlined that I have ever seen. Such a simple user interface is hard to find these days, I am beyond impressed and would gladly pay for this app even if it was out for money. Thank you for making a quality application for your listeners :)
