Need a few reasons to take some long weekends this summer?  Here are 10 new-this-summer amusement park rides from around the world that we think will be worth the wait in those mind-numbing lines.

Tired of spending layovers in an airport?  Download Yahoo! TimeTraveler on your iPhone to create custom itineraries based on your location and amount of time you have to spend.

    Transformers: The Ride - 3D
    Universal Studios, Hollywood, Calif.

Transformers: The Ride - 3-D recently debuted at Universal Studios Hollywood. The $100 million attraction developed by Michael Bay and special effects company Industrial Light and Magic has visitors riding a 12-person Transformer vehicle and watching the 3-D action from 14 screens. That's enough stimuli to make even the most ardent workaholics want to call in sick a few days this summer.

Title of article = "10 new amusement park rides for summer 2012"
People posting comments asking why parks/coasters that have been around for several years aren't mentioned in the article = MORONS

A new roller coaster in the Wild Eagle at Dollywood which bills itself as America's first wing roller coaster. I heard it was awesome and cannot wait to ride it.

The X-flight from 6 flags and The Swarm from UK are exactly the same. Why didn't the article mention the new underground roller coaster in WI? It takes you through a mine just like the old days when the miners ride them.

      They missed Skyrush...

I don't think Hershey forked out any money for advertising, thats why it wasn't added.

Typical butthurt Pennsylvanians. People are probably afraid to bring their kids to PA after the Penn State fiasco.

Hong Kong Disneyland is too crowded. I think it's a bad decision to open the smallest Disneyland in proximity of the 3 most populated nations on Earth, (China, India, Indonesia), they all go there since it's the closest. The new one they're opening in Shanghai should be made very large, maybe larger than Orlando's, to accomodate those billions of tourists.

Yep, proof positive Yahoo commercials and videos take you for a ride every time.

"On Memorial Day Weekend, SeaWorld, San Diego, opened its giant Manta roller coaster. If its 54-foot drop sounds like too much..." 54 foot drop too much?! SERIOUSLY?! That's the second or third "small drop" on the good coasters!

Being a taller person with broad shoulders, I very seldom fit on coasters or rides with shoulder bars. I tried a ride at the county fair, and the ride attendant nearly broke my ribs trying to get the bar down before telling me I couldn't ride. Didn't give me my ride tickets back, either.

I just rode Manta last week and it is pretty cool. It's not a big coaster so families can enjoy it and although I am used to the coasters at Cedar Point I found it fun.
