Born in Teheran in 1978, studied journalism and economics in Cologne. Editor at the Financial Times Deutschland and the Cologne StadtRevue (CityRevue). Short stories in anthologies, newspapers and magazines. Finalist in the Open Mike literary award in 2007, participated in the Bavarian Academy of Writing in 2013.
Her book Sechzehn Wörter (Sixteen Words) won the 2017 Austrian Book Prize as the best debut novel. Nava Ebrahimi lives with her family in Graz.
