iTunes Editors’ Notes

As the member of Sleater-Kinney with the voice that takes the tops off of trees, Corin Tucker could stutter on a note for three minutes and make it music. As it stands, she brings together a band who play it just as gritty as Sleater-Kinney but that feature her voice in much more vulnerable situations. Where S-K were all about tension that could explode into raging war at any moment, CTB allow for people to gather their things and leave. The title track takes its time to build, leaving Tucker’s voice to do battle without the full-band sound for a few moments. “It’s Always Summer” is gentle. Drummer Sara Lund throws her power behind the beat, but the ghostly vocals and the hurt in Tucker’s voice take precedence. “Big Goodbye” settles in as mortal realities become clear. “Doubt” kicks up a rockabilly hustle to mask the emotion. “Dragon” reflects on the sadder spectrum of things. “Miles Away” sits at the piano. Where once S-K looked to kick down the doors, Corin Tucker and multi-instrumentalist Seth Lorinczi are interested in painting them different colors.

Sleater-Kinney's Hurricane Solo Debut

The hurricane whip-lash voice that is Corin Tucker of Sleater-Kinney is back in high kicking action.
You will love this album whether you are a fan of Sleater-Kinney, the Riot Grrrl Movement, or just plain good old school rock.

Who said you can't be a musician and be a mother.
Long live Corin.

delicious

it's lovely watching her leave sleater-kinney behind. we all loved sleater-kinney, but since they are no longer - this is a real treat, delicious. can't wait to see how it evolves.

Good things to come

I am glad that she got back behind the microphone again. This album is pretty accessible; it rocks, it sways, and its sweet. Hopefully the first of many.
