That's what I'm talkin' about!
This is excellence in chill electronica. The vocals are unobtrusively smooth and easy on the ears, the lyrics are low-key but profound, and somehow Halloween, Alaska combines chimes, electric guitar, a ticking clock, and keyboard chorus to create a mix that empowers you and sends you into deep contemplation at the same time. This is what you've been looking for.

halloween is not frightening anymore
halloween, alaska have crafted a gorgeous electronic pop gem. comparisons to the postal service and other poppy electronic bands is inevitable but halloween, alaska have done something very unique that sets them apart. halloween, alaska's songs are more subdued and pensive than typical pop songs. the tones and textures slowly shift and shimmer to create beautifully melancholy atmospheres. the sound as a whole is very spacious and mysterious. while songs like "call it clear" could be played on any top 40 radio station, they still carry with them the moodiness and integrity of tracks such as "all the arms around you" which, in my opinion, is the standout track on the album. the only fear of halloween, alaska should be not hearing them.
