Album Review

Buddha's Best of Mr. Mister may only clock in at 12 tracks, but it's a succinct, accurate summary of the group's career, containing not only hits like "Broken Wings" and "Kyrie," but also a good cross section of their album tracks. Certainly, some hardcore followers will notice particular favorites missing, but for most listeners, this will contain all the Mr. Mister they'll need.

Customer Reviews

Everyone who has bought number 1, and 7, is right on, in my opinion.

I love number 1 and 7 songs. They take me back to my teenage years, wearing sunglasses in the hot hot sun, sitting in the back of Dad's pickup truck, with my boom box blasting. I could do without the other songs. They are way outdated sounding, but the exception is "Broken Wings", and "Kyrie", which are the songs I have loved for a long time. They sound heavily sythasized like a lot of 80's music, but in some songs it sounds great. So, buy those two.

Beautiful collection, but missing "Power Over Me"

A beautiful and essential collection for any Mr. Mister or 80's pop fan. Sadly, the band did not include a remastered version of "Power Over Me" on this compilation which is one of the most beautiful Mr. Mister songs ever.

love kyrie

I love old classic music like this and Kyrie has to be one of my favorites. It's very meaningful and easy to listen to. This album is a great selection of all their music and is certainly worth buying.

Biography

Formed: 1982 in Phoenix, AZ

Genre: Pop

A product of the L.A. session-musician community (which also produced the harder-rocking Toto), Mr. Mister enjoyed a brief but massive burst of popularity during the mid-'80s, crafting an atmospheric, vaguely progressive variation on slick, radio-ready pop/rock. While they disappeared almost as quickly as they arrived on the scene,...
