Science Fair Soundtrack? .... You Bet!,

Upon first listening to this new piece I must say it's subdued, but not quite a "one note" ambient piece. Reminiscent of elements from "Exhibition" (From Field Work / The Arrangement CD Compilation), "Nostalgia" (From (Not) YMO'sTechnodon) and Music For Yohji Yamamoto Collection 1995, however still a fresh "radar driven" avenue, (compared to recent musical outings) for RS to travel down. I have the disc playing on repeat as I write this and brighter elements seem to keep bubbling to the surface (which in my opinion is a good sign that this disc will have a better shelf life). As far as recent hopes of a "Techno Pop" adventure we can safely assume now and believe Sakamoto as he has stated recently that he is NO longer is interested or excited by that genre. (Note: The references to past compositions are not intended to dissmissed as regurgitation, but to illustrate a tonal feeling toward this composition.)

It's like a his sketchbook

After 9/11 he has released this album. Music dose reflects that event a little bit also beautifu.

Utterly Sublime

Between this and Tetsu Inoue's "Ambient Otaku" you might never need any other ambient music. It's that good. My eight-week-old son is an ambient music expert, and if he could write, I'm sure he would tell you that this album is an essential work in the genre.
