iTunes Editors’ Notes
While they're not the second coming suggested by their cross-wagging image and Jesus Christ-referenced song titles ("Genesis," "Let There Be Light"), Justice ruled the electro-rock roost for most of 2007 and 2008. And with good reason — the Parisian duo's debut is the Prodigy, ravaged and ramped up for neon-doused new-ravers. Not to mention anyone with dancing shoes and a short attention span. As Xavier de Rosnay admitted in an MTV interview, Cross splices and chops nearly 400 samples over the course of 12 songs and 48 minutes, to the point where "no one can recognize them." Among the swiped sounds are Slipknot, Queen, and 50 Cent, all of which have been reduced to rubble amid the laser-guided synths, woofer-wrecking bass lines and tense strings of songs like "Stress," "Phantom," and the single that started it all, "Waters of Nazareth." (Ed Banger Records released it as part of an EP way back in 2005.) The wobbly melodies and ridiculous rhymes of "The Party" and the massive Schoolhouse Rock-isms of "D.A.N.C.E." provide a bit of a break from all the teeth-gnashing noise, but overall this is a dance album you lose your shirt and mind to.
Customer Reviews
Are you sure you like this?
I know that this band has been hyped by everyone and everything. The music is good. I put 'Waters of Nazareth' in my regular DJ set and podcast a few months ago - but I just want to make sure everyone is keeping it real. Seriously. Melodically, the songs are similar with the exception of D.A.N.C.E. Technically, the songs are similar. Emotionally, the songs are similar. In terms of tempo the songs are similar. In fact, they aren't just similar to each other, they sound like the majority of the releases on Ed Banger Records as well as the majority of much blogged-about mixes that fall under the french electronic umbrella. But the kids like it. So hey. Three stars. Just let me say 'I told you so' when everyone is totally over this in nine months.

Great!
Awesome songs that are great to dance to or to just chill out to. This and MSTRKRFT are the future of electronic music. 1. Genesis - 7/10: Not one of my favorites. Nothing on it really stood out to me. 2. Let There Be Light - 8.5/10: Nice beat and easy to dance to. A stand out track imo 3. D.A.N.C.E. - 10/10: The lead song on this album and the one most people know. It's just so catchy and great. Check out the several remixes of this song including the MSTKRFT one. 4. Newjack - 8/10: One of the few songs with "vocals" in it, and it starts out quite nice, but by the end it's just too repetetive. Still good 5. Phantom - 8.5/10: A pretty nice track. 6. Phantom, Pt. 2 - 9.5/10: I just seem to like this one a lot more than the first Phantom. 7. Valentine - 6/10 - Probably the worst one on the CD for me, but I havn't listened to it that much, so it could grow on me. 8. TTHHE PPAARRTTYY - 9/10: Great dance song 9. DVNO - 10/10: My personal favorite. Also in the movie Hitman when they are in the club 10. Stress -8/10: A very easy song to like, but deffinatly not one of my favorites. 11. Waters of Nazareth - 9.5/10: A really sweet song, and one of the other popular ones being in a few comercials. 12. One Minute to Midnight - 8.5/10: Another great song. Overall this is a great new electronic duo, and they remix tons of great songs. I see bright things in their future.
