Noel Gallagher acoustic! What else is there to say.

Its about time that we get this cd on itunes in the states!! I have been a long time Oasis fan and have a growing appreciation of Noel's music talent. An amazing song writer since the first album but with age his voice and his overall musical genius continues to grow. This concert was in benefit for the Teenage Cancer Trust. Overall a mixed collection of well known songs including wonderwall (in the ryan adams version) and don't look back in anger but includes songs that are just as good (if not better) and not very well known in the states like my favorites Slide Away , The importance of being idle, Fade away and half the world away. Also Paul weller joins Noel for two songs which are Butterfly Collector and the beatles classic All you need is love. Overall a great cause and a great performance.

WHAT'S BETTER?: OASIS LIVE or NOEL LIVE?

I vote Noel with an acoustic guitar and some light accompaniment over Oasis any day. Of course Oasis brings something to the table (namely the greatest rock 'n roll of this generation) yet there is nothing quite like hearing the raw energy of the young-persons-everywhere-anthem "Listen Up" sung by a man who realizes how great an impact his music makes on those who choose to listen. Noel and Oasis will never get as much credit and respect as they deserve, but those who truly appreciate songwriting, and an astonishing live performance, know the mastery of Noel Gallagher and company.

Simply amazing

Noel's performance on this album is simply breathtaking; though I've always been a huge fan of Liam and his rougher, sneering singing voice, I have to give Noel credit, he's an excellent singer as well. Though its common knowledge that Noel's always been the visionary force driving the band, to finally hear him singing his own songs (with a few exceptions, Liam usually sings most of these) is awesome. "Don't Go Away" has a type of heartbreaking beauty to it; though I consider this one of Liam's best vocal performances of all time, Noel's version gives it more than a run for its money. My only complaint is "Wonderwall", as I am not a fan of the Ryan Adams version and prefer the original one. Otherwise, a great CD for a great cause. You're the man Noel

Genre: Alternative

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

As the lead guitarist, main songwriter, and occasional vocalist for Oasis, Noel Gallagher played a tremendous role in shaping British rock music during the 1990s and beyond. He was the brains behind the group's biggest hits, which drew equally from the riff-heavy guitar heroics of the Who and the smart, melodic pop hooks of the Beatles. Although Oasis maintained a near-permanent place in the tabloids — thanks in large part to Noel's public battles with his younger brother, Liam, as well as...
