Album Review

Boasting the German pop/rock band's Top Five breakout smash hit "Symphonie," Verschwende Deine Zeit marks the full-length album debut of Silbermond. Released in 2004, the 15-track album was re-released in a special edition that adds a few "Symphonie"-related bonus tracks. Other highlights include "Mach's Dir Selbst" and "Durch die Nacht," both of which were released as singles prior to "Symphonie."

Female vocals are made supreme by the acoutstic, percussion, etc. of the group....

Don't let the cover album of "Verschwende deine Zeit" fool you: this is no punk rock group. And don't let the title fool you either ("Verschwende deine Ziet" auf English is "Waste your time"): listening to this album is an incedibly good way to spend your time. The album is good in two ways: the quality and diversity of the music. First, the quality. The lead singer has a range which rivals every female vocalist from Steve Nicks to Barabara Streisand. And while this is remarkable enough, what really pushes the band over the top is the way the lead singer is supported by everything from the acoustic guitar to the percussion to the back-up vocalists on "Letzte Bahn" to the way a symphony backs-up the track, "Symphonie." As for the diversity, you have everything from what you would expect, punk, such as "Mach's dir selbst," to incredible ballads such as "Durch die Nacht" to something which sounds like "flapper" music from the 1920s ("A Stückl heile Welt") to metal ("Immer am Limit"). The only thing which seems to be missing is country, an omission which doesn't bother me too much, but, I'm sure, if this group wanted to, it could produce "country" which would teach Linda Ronstadt or Faith Hill or Sheyl Crow a thing or two. It's really too bad that Americans, usually, don't "cotton" to anything other than that which is spoken in their typically native tongue of English. There's a world of music out there which parochial Americans would do well to listen to. Silbermond is definitely one of those groups which the USA could benefit from having on its "Top 40." This is an excellent group. I hope they stick together. And I hope iTunes makes more of their ablums available.

Slbermond Rocks !

I was really lucky to stumble upon this group. Eventhough i know very little German, this band is awesome. It's a shame there isn't more available on the U.S. site as there are many more albums on the German site. This album was recently added on and I'm so happy to say this album is excelent just like the band's other album's. If you like this band you may also like other German groups like, Juli, Klee, Wir Sind Helden and Nena

Heyy, they are pretty darn good!

I only bought a few of the songs, so here's what I have to say about the ones I purchased. 1- Verschende deine Zeit- Catchy, not a disappointment. 2- Passend Gemacht- One of my favorites! Really catchy song. 3- Symphonie- It's a beautiful song, one of my favorites. I highly recommend you buy this one. 4- 1000 Fragen- pretty good song, really interesting. 5- A stuckl heile welt- great song, really love it. funny. 6- wissen was wird- awesome song 7- immer am limit- kool, except the race car noises are a little schmalzig (corny) but it's a great song, really good This album is awesome, and Stephanie Kloss has such a nice voice. The band is awesome and these are songs that will complete anyone's German music library. If you like Silbermond (which you should, they are great), then try these other German bands: 1: TOKIO HOTEL- my favorite German band ever. <3 Bill, Tom, Georg, Gustav (mostly Bill). I highly recommend them, although unfortunately the American iTunes store does not offer their music in German, but their English ablum is great too. BUY IT! You will quickly fall in love them. The band is awesome beyond compare. I would describe as alternative rock/punk if you're wondering. 2: Nena- She's another legend. Very popular. Her music is bouncier, like dance music. She was a hit in the 80s, but her music will never die out. She has a wonderful voice and I highly recommend you buy her albums. (Willst du mit mir gehn, chokmah, and nena-feat.nena) 3: Juli- They are a pretty awesome band too. Those are the bands I would recommend for you. TOKIO HOTEL ROCKS!!!!! ICH LIEBE SIE (I LOVE THEM)!!!!!!
