Album Review

Darius Rucker leaves his newly adopted country home behind for a bit of uptown swinging swagger on 2014's Home for the Holidays. This 12-track collection of standards — apart from "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" and "O Come, All Ye Faithful," they're all secular; apart from the nondescript original "What God Wants for Christmas," they're all well-known — is all delivered in the mock-Sinatra style that has come to suggest Christmas in popular culture. The production is clean and unfussy, sparkling just enough to suggest new-fallen snow but not enough to be tacky, and Rucker is amiable, perhaps a bit too digitally polished but possessing enough good charm to keep things moving at a nice clip. Consequently, Home for the Holidays winds up as a perfectly fine Christmas record, suited for those Rucker fans who have stuck with him from Hootie to R&B to country.

Best album of 2014 😍❤️

Let me give you some perspective on Darius Rucker he is he is literally the best country singer I've ever heard. He doesn't sing about nice trucks and all the hot women like Luke Bryan does or Florida Georgia line and he doesn't sing about beer and alcohol he sings about being with family having God has his number one in his life and his wife and kids. This album gets 5 stars just like all his other ones. It would be amazing if he seen this review ☺️ Darius Rucker was my exit from my depression and what was going on in my life he helped me realize that one you should always put God first no matter what you're going through, two you should always care about your family through thick and thin three, life is what you make it..

Darius Rocks!!

He's still as smooth as ever and this will be an awesome addition to my Christmas collection! Love him!

As the frontman of Hootie & the Blowfish, Darius Rucker was one of the most popular frontmen in mainstream pop/rock during the mid-'90s. The band's debut album, Cracked Rear View, was virtually inescapable in 1995, eventually selling more than 16 million copies and becoming one of the most successful albums of all time.
