Honest Review from a diehard AvB fan

1. Intense - interesting, diverse track. tries a little to hard though. a little too hectic, song lacks an identity. enjoyable to listen to but not something I would ecstatically share with friends 7/10

2. This Is What It Feels Like - a song that will probably get a lot of flack for its "sell-out" feel. Look at "Going Wrong" off of 'Imagine', you'll notice similarities. Without the new house movement the song probably wouldn't get hated on so much, but still lacks a lot of individuality . 7/10

3. Beautiful Life - first song I would describe as "strong" on the album, stronger vocals would push it over the edge but enjoyable nonetheless. 8.5/10

4. Waiting For The Night - Beat Service remix is great, the regular version is good. 7.5/10 remix is 8.5/10

5. Pulsar - love the crunchy synth. kind of progressive house-ish but I like it a lot. 8.5/10

6. Sound of the Drums - possibly the worst Armin song I've ever heard. 5/10

7. Alone - Wouldn't even consider it a Trance song. but actually really like it. Lyrics are surprisingly relevant. 8.5/10

8. Turn This Love Around - started off very generic, but after he threw in the violins it got more interesting. Feel like there's a lot of potential for a remix to come in and kill it. 8/10

9. Won't Let You Go - refreshingly trancy on this record. Got excited from the minute the song started. 9/10

10. Last Stop Before Heaven - promising buildup sort of disappoints. has to be more complex to impress me. 7/10

11. Forever Is Ours - saw the name Emma Hewitt and got exactly what I expected. 8.5/10

12. Love Never Came - borrowing Richard Bedford from A&B was a great idea. Might be the best song on the album. Literally the only thing wrong with it is at 3:50 Bedford's voice kind of fades out awkwardly with an extra "eeee" sound. you'll understand what I'm saying. 9.5/10

13. Who's Afraid of 138?! - a refreshingly non-vocal trance track on the album. Fails to blow me away but wouldn't skip over it necesarily. 8/10

14. Reprise - didn't see that coming. Could see this at the end of a movie. Not necesarily a fan of the rock instrumental but actually a really cool way to end an album. If I was doing trance for 20 years I'd wanna have the freedom to throw some drums in one song. 7.5/10

Overall: Not going to say disappointing. Album had it's good moments. If it had one perfect song that I could give a 10/10 that really blew me away it would do the album wonders. Still have a few good new songs that i'll look forward to listening too and I have a feeling some remixes will come out and put some songs (Won't Let You Go, Turn This Love Around, Forever is Ours) over the top. 8.5/10

Armin does not disappoint

Just when I though the EDM world was becoming overly saturated with young DJs with more or less the same sound, Armin van Buuren saves the day by delivering elegant, bold and original music. Once again, he proves to be the #1 DJ. Trance out.

AvB Intense!
